Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Shalette's early years were filled with difficulty and uncertainty. However, she has overcome the socio-economic barriers to a good life and is currently pursuing a PhD in Computing Technology in Education at Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
She has performed duties as Lecturer at the University College of the Caribbean, University Hospital of the West Indies and INFOSERV Institute of Technology. She has also performed duties as a graduate assistant to the MBA programme manager at Nova Southeastern University and academic advisor at Keiser College in Florida.
Shalette conducts business in 18 Caribbean islands. She has appeared on TVJ, CVM and WIV TV. In addition, she has been interviewed on Power 106, Hot 102, JIS, RJR, Nationwide News Network, the Jamaica Gleaner, Jamaica Observer, the Turks and Caicos Free Press, Caribbean Net News, South Florida Times and Searchlight newspaper.
